Older people in South Africa have an alternative medicine to treat joint pain or arthritis. Instead of balsam gout or tablets, they use a condom.
Of course, it does not chew the gum shield or swallowed.
Lubricant they use to smear the joint pain.
Sowetan newspaper reported that the trend was less prominent.
"This oil is number one. I'm tired of doing a variety of tablets," said Elizabeth Moyo, a resident of Johannesburg told reporters.
He then showed that the alternative treatment. Wrap the condom ripped, in a dab of lubricating oil, then rubbed on painful joints.
The doctors say there is no scientific evidence that condom lubricant can cure joint pain. What is clear, that the condom had been used as a drug can not be used again as it should. For some people, having a husband and wife without a condom is not a problem. The problem with the joint is bone pain.
