In this world , God created animals with the group , the carnivores , herbivores , and omnivores . While the majority of the plants could not be categorized as carnivores , herbivores , and omnivores ( as food plants is sunlight , water , and carbon dioxide ) but there are also plants that prey on other creatures ( or carnivorous plants ).

Portuguese sundew .

Portuguese sundew
Are native to Portugal , Spain and Morocco , and is one of the few carnivorous plants grow in dry, alkaline soil . This plant has a distinct smell , which attracts insects prey upon . Insects trapped by mucus released by glands contained in the leaves .

Cobra plant or California pitcher plant ( Darlingtonia ).

Darlingtonia
Found in northern California and Oregon , lived in the swamp and in the running water . Leaf -shaped tube that looks like a cobra with forked leaves . Unlike other pitcher - plants , the leaves did not produce any digestive enzymes .

North American Pitcher Plant ( sarracenia ).

 sarracenia
Channels have evolved to trap insects . The channel can also be 1 m ( 3.3 feet ) long . They live in acidic swamps in the eastern and southern United States Canada . Insects attracted by nectar- like secretion on the lip of pitchers , as well as combinations of colors and scents .

Mocassin plant or Western Australian pitcher plant ( Cephalotus ).

Pitcher Plants ( Nepenthes ).
Probably has the most spectacular traps , even if some of the most sophisticated functional . This plant grows from southeast Asia to Madagascar and northeastern Australia .

The Venus Fly Trap ( Dionaea muscicapula ).

Dionaea muscicapula.
Living in the swamp in North and South Carolina ( southeastern United States ) . These plants capture and digest prey animals (mostly insects and arachnids ) with a trap set up by each terminal part of the plant leaf . Mechanism that snaps shut trapping involves a complex interaction between elasticity , turgor and growth .

Waterweel plant ( Aldrovanda ).

Waterweel plant ( Aldrovanda ).
Is associated with sundews . The only species , found in Europe , Asia , Africa and Australia , lived in the water . Traps set around the middle, free floating shaft . Trap consists of two lobes which fold together to form a snap - trap like an open book . This trap , which rotate so that the trap openings point outside , bounded on the inside by a nice layer trigger hair , snapping shut in response to contact withaquatic invertebrates and trap them . So , thank you for reading this article .
